It’s been a few months of hectic planning but we’re finally live with our week long celebration of 3D Film – The Edinburgh 3D Film Festival 2014.
With that in mind if you want to see some great stereoscopic features or short films head over to the Filmhouse website now and get your tickets – it’s looking likely that these screening will be pretty busy.
Each screening will also feature related talks or question and answer sessions with visiting directors or stereographers.
Tickets are available at the usual Filmhouse Website.
Situation Vacant will finally get a digital 3D screening in the UK at the first ever Edinburgh 3D Film Festival this May.
Our award winning sci-fi/mystery film which we created at last years 48 Hour Film Project in Edinburgh will have its UK Stereoscopic 3D Premiere on the 7th May at the Filmhouse in Edinburgh in Scotland’s first 3D film festival. This is really great news for us to be able to screen our film in the format it was meant to be seen in. In production we really considered how the stereoscopic effect could be used in a subtle way to enhance the story and characters emotional perspective, and it’s certainly the best considered use of 3D I think we have made to date.
Of course this is just one of a whole block of live action 3D shorts that we will be screening that night, and is itself one night of a week-long celebration of stereoscopic 3D films. For more on the Edinburgh 3D Film Festival and to keep up to date with the event please visit the website and LIKE the Facebook page, and follow us on Twitter.
Life in 3D returns to Edinburgh for a second year with a little more focus on stereoscopy this time round along with an associated Season of 3D film.
The 3D film season aims to screen a range of modern classic 3D features and a block of 3D short films will be included in the program.
To find out more or to submit your 3D short film for consideration please visit the Life in 3D site.
Amanda and Tamas got a little over excited as our Facebook page reaching over 300 LIKES!

Enhanced Dimensions first Festival screening of 2014 has got the year off to an exciting start at the Parallax Festival in the Czech Republic.
Parallax Festival in Prague selected three Enhanced Dimensions films for their short film screening. Namely our 3D Music Video we shot for the late Stevey Hay “Kimberley Station”, our 48 Hour 2013 Best Direction Award winning short “Situation Vacant” and the rarely seen teaser called “UNDERCOVER3D” for our web series Crime Squad which is currently in production.
Thanks again to the organisers for selecting our films and for those of you who might have caught them we do hope you enjoyed viewing them as much as we did making them.
Visit the Parallax Festival Website.
I’m proud to share the “Introduction to Stereoscopic 3D” presentation that was created as a basic support tool for introductory 3d learning sessions.
The presentation on SlideShare covers the basics of how stereoscopic 3D works, creating 3D and viewing 3D. The overall objective of the piece is to simply introduce stereoscopy to an audience which in the live workshop we augmented with interactive excercises to bring the theory to life.
All graphics were created specifically for this presentation with thanks again to Cassie Duncan for being a wonderful model for our 3D shots.
Stereoscopic 3D: An Introduction can be viewed and downloaded via SlideShare.
